Billy Mays (the OxiClean Guy) Halloween Costume

DO YOU NEED A COSTUME FOR HALLOWEEN THAT'S QUICK, EASY, AND GETS OUT TOUGH STAINS? WELL HERE IS JUST THE THING FOR YOU! BE BILLY MAYS, THE OXICLEAN GUY!

Step 1: Costume Materials

The material requirements for the Billy Mays costume are pretty easy. If you're lucky, you'll have them all on-hand! If not, you can probably pick up everything at once from your local "big box" store.

1) Thick black hair and beard (Free - $30)

If you're a dude with dark hair and a beard already, then you've got it made! For the truly authentic look, you may want to throw some gel in your hair and slick it back.

If you're not naturally equipped with Billy Mays features, don't despair. You can buy fake beards and wigs online or at your local Party Supply store.

2) Blue button-up shirt with OxiClean logo taped on (Free - $30)

Any sort of long-sleeved blue button-up shirt will do. The important part is to print out the logo (Attached below) and tape it to the upper left side of your shirt. I'd recommend using double-sided scotch tape for a non-permanent attachment.

Billy always left the top two buttons undone with a crisp white undershirt underneath.

3) Khaki pants (Free - $30)

Simple khaki pants, preferably pleated, with a brown belt.

4) OxiClean prop (Tub or Spray Bottle) (Free - $10)

Perhaps you already use OxiClean and have the bottle laying around? If not, most pharmacies or department stores will have a variety of shapes and sizes to choose from.

5) Watch(Free - $20)

Billy always wore a watch... You could probably get away without this detail, but if you have one - put it on!

Step 2: Put It All Together!

Put on the shirt and pants, tape on the logo, don the fake beard/wig (if necessary), and pick up your tub of OxiClean.

Congratulations - you are now Billy Mays!

Here's a couple tips to really make the most of your Billy Mays experience:

Tip #1) Remember, ALWAYS talk in a loud voice and start every conversation with "HI, BILLY MAYS HERE!"

Tip #2) Give lots of Thumbs Up's!

Tip #5) This costume can be adapted to any of your favorite Billy Mays products (Mighty Mend-It, Big City Slider Station, OrangeGlo, etc.) Just change the logo and grab a different prop!
