Introduction: Bison Chocolate Stout Beer Pancakes

Here's an awesome recipe from my house mate :)

And I'm sorry, there's no bacon this time...

Step 1: Ingridients

  • Pancake Mix
  • Bison Chocolate Stout Beer
  • Syrup (probably best to use natural syrup)

Also part of our breakfast
Eggs - Bell Peppers - Onion - Sun Dried Tomato

Step 2: Mix

1 bottle of chocolate stout beer is1.5 cups. Mix an appropriate amount of pancake mix as per your package. Then, add more dry mix (While stirring) until you get your desired thickness. We added about 3/4 of a cup on top of the directions called for.

Step 3: Cook

Cook on a buttered pan - just like a "normal" pancake. There's no worry about alcohol given the low boiling point of ethanol (almost all of it will evaporate). However, it's best to make sure your pancakes are cooked thoroughly for an even flavor.

If you have an intolerance to alcohol, or can not consume alcohol for any reason -- this probably isn't the recipe for you.

Step 4: Serve

Serve up a stack of cakes with eggs and a glass of freshly blended smoothie :)

They have a stout like flavor -- with a nice, but not overpowering, dark chocolate essence :D They were good enough to try with a Framboise - which has a few problems requiring some extra steps (coming soon) ;)

How do these taste then? (as opposed to ordinary pancakes) L
