Blanket or pillow? You decide! by QueenElizabeth

This is a great craft if your mom, like mine, spends a lot of her time sitting on hard bleachers, or out in the cold, watching your game.

It is a large fleece blanket that folds into a comfy fleece pillow. You can even add straps out of reinforced fleece for her to use it as a lightweight purse!

This is a VERY easy sewing craft. You only need to know how to measure, and sew three straight lines.

Step 1: Materials

You will need:

If you want to make the blanket with only one color, you will need 2 1/2 yards of fleece
If you want the blanket and pillow part to be out of different fabrics, you will need 2 yards of the blanket fleece and 1/2 yard of the pillow fleece. The two colors can be your team's colors, or you can use a pattern and a solid, as in the picture.

Needle and thread

Scissors

Measuring tape

Instead of leaving the edge side open for the pocket, if you leave the opposite side open, when used as a blanket, you can stick your feet in the pocket to keep warm. Of course this would mean that it would be the bottom side as a blanket.

you could also sew one pocket on the reverse side of the one you would tuck the rest of the blanket in and have a pocket to put your feet in.

I used to have one of these! (Can't remember where it is now.) We called it a quillow. Sometimes we'd fold out the blanket, stuff the pocket with something like a couple t-shirts, and then use it like a light-weight sleeping bag (but of course it wasn't really a bag). Fun times. :D

Fabulous idea! Not only good for sporting events. but would be good to make for young children in daycare or school if they have naptime and storytelling activities

This is really cool, especially for soccer moms! I'm going to put my little brother's number on one. Thanks!
