Boomerang for Gmail

These are the instructions for Installing and Using Boomerang for Gmail. This is a program using your Gmail that enables emailing to be easier, faster, and more efficient. Boomerang will allow you to schedule email reminders and send emails in future time. The following are instructions that guide you from Installing Boomerang onto your Gmail account to scheduling receiving/sending an email.


What you will need:
• Computer with internet access
• Firefox or Chrome plug-in
• A Gmail (google mail) account
• Enable pop-ups

Step 1: Installing Boomerang for Gmail

a. Go to http://www.boomeranggmail.com/

b. Click on INSTALL BOOMERANG

c. Give permission to install Boomerang by clicking ALLOW in the top-right corner of your Firefox browser window.

d. Install Boomerang for Gmail.

e. Click RESTART FIREFOX

f. Close ADD ON’s box

g. You will need to open Gmail in a new tab; you will see a Boomerang link in the top-right corner of your Gmail screen.

The steps in your set of instructions are very short and easy to follow. However, several of these steps are unclear because they don't provide enough information for the user. For instance, part d in step 1 says "Install Boomerang for Gmail" but does not say how. All of the other parts are bolded for terms that should be clicked but part d does not include "Install Now", it only says to install boomerang. In part g of Step 1 you state how you to need to open Gmail in a new tab when you can just state "Open Gmail in New Tab in top-right corner of screen"; this will make the parts more uniform to each other because parts a-f are short and blunt.

I think your instructions are very useful. However, I think there are a few ways you can make your instructions better. First, Step 4 should be a Side Note not an actual step since you are not describing how to do an action. Second, Steps 5 and 7 are the same and should be under the same step, this holds true for Steps 6 and 8 as well. I think the video instructions was an excellent idea.

Step 3.i. is not in the same format as every other step. And I'm a little confused by it.

I found these instructions very useful. Up until recently, I had not been familiar with Boomerang and had always wanted to utilize a program similar to this. The instructions are very straight forward and easy to follow.

I like how your instructions are quick, to the point, and efficient in explaining the steps without any ambiguity. I really would have liked to see a few more creative examples of how Boomerang is helpful to people.

I found these instructions useful because I constantly use gmail. I was unfamiliar with boomerang until now, but because the instructions to install are so comprehensive and clear , I was convinced to actually use this application. I also liked how you started with the "things you will need:" it was a simple addition but was definitely useful to inform the reader.

It seems odd that prior to this page, all of the important keys were emphasized in bold, and now they're not.

It seems like some of the steps go moved around. Step 10 refers to Step 2, but step 2 is just installing the add-on. You might want to look at that.

It seems interesting, but two weeks ago I uninstalled ALL FIREFOX ADDONS, because the navigation had become impossibly slow. That was holy remedy.
