In this instructable we will be making candles small and portable enough to fit in a survival kit or camping pack of some sort. This is my first instructable (applause) as well as an entry in the summer camping challenge. These should be compact enough to take with you camping and pretty easy to make and I hope you don't run into any problems along the way. And if you do I am pretty sure there is a way to contact me on my account that I don't know about quite yet (probably because I created this account about two minutes ago.)

Step 1: Gather Materials

The materials you are going to need are pretty basic: a water bottle cap, a small candle, a small jar, some glue, and a frying pan

Step 2: Remove Metal From Candle

Carefully separate the metal and wick from the round candle, but save the wick , we will need it in the next step.

Step 3: Glue Down the Wick

The title is kind of self explanatory but you basically need to take the little white string from the last step and glue it to the center of the bottle cap.

Step 4: Melt the Wax

This step isn't so easy. You need to slip the candle into a small jar, (such as a baby food jar) place the jar in a frying pan, fill the frying pan with water, and boil the water on a stove. This should melt the wax inside the jar. Now you just wait... and wait... and wait...

Step 5: Pour the Wax

Wait for the wax to cool, but don't let it harden again. Pour it into the bottle cap. If you have any leftover you can make another one (but I guess you need another wick anyway.)

Step 6: Done

Once your wax hardens, you have finished your candle. Yay! It should end up looking like the picture. If it does not and instead looks like you pulled it out of the toilet, repeat steps 1-5.
