Introduction: Bottle Opener and Lime Slicer in One

Pop open your favorite beer and slice your lime with one tool.

Instructions to use it:
STEP 1 – Open the bottle.
STEP 2 -  Slice your lime.
STEP 3 – Enjoy!

Instructions to make it:
STEP 1 : You need a steel strap that is about .125” thick.
STEP 2 : Using the horizontal band saw cut the steel strap 1.25” x 6”
STEP 3 : At this point you have a piece of steel that is 6” long and 1.25” wide.
Lay it down horizontally and measure 1.25” from the left side and about .625” from top to bottom and mark a dot there.
STEP 4 – Make a half inch tap with the drill press using a ½” bit.
STEP 5 – Measure 3” from the left side at the bottom and trace a line to the upper edge of the hole and using the vertical band saw make a cut.  Make another cut vertically from the lower edge of the hole to the bottom of the metal.
STEP 6 – Using a disk sander make about an inch and a half blade in the upper side.
STEP 7 – Round all the corners and sides until smooth using a grinder.

A dull knife is what cuts you

it looks nice but i think a more practical tool would just be a chef's or any knife, hold hand around neck of bottle. place back of knife underneath cap and push up on cap using hand on bottle as pivot point and whalla. slice lime with knife.

Cool project , i made something like this but its a pry bar and a knife , nothing better than a Corona.

A Corona, or a Crona?!?! Hahaha.. Sorry.. Had to! :P

Oh, now that is clever. But I can imagine myself slicing my finger off while trying to open a particularly stubborn Corona. Not to say I don't want one!

    LOL !! watch your finger!

Yeah, after opening a few more coronas I noticed that ... so I made the blade shorter by rounding about an inch and a half of the blade closer to the handler with the grinder.

    Thanks for the comment!

you could also design a handle :] that will add a grip with out compromising the design.

looks dangerous but still a really cool idea

That's a survival tool for the beach!

Congratulations on your first Instructable (you should mention it on the Rewards for New Authors page), but we could really do with some Making instructions, not just how to use it.

Hey there! I added some instructions on how to make it.

    Cheers indeed ;-)

Thanks! I'm glad you like the design. I didn't make it too sharp. Only sharp enough to cut the lime.
