Step 1: Ingredients
Pinch of Celtic Salt
2 tbs fresh grated organic ginger (or organic lemon peel zest)
1/4 cup of organic cane sugar
1/2 cup organic raisins
1/4 cup of organic sesame seeds (or organic slivered almonds)
1/4 cup melted organic pasture raised butter
1/2 cup of organic pasture raised milk warmed with the melted butter
1 packet of dry yeast added to 1/8 cup warm water & 1 tsp organic cane sugar
2 organic eggs - 1 egg + 1/2 yolk (reserve the other half yolk & white of 1 egg for an egg wash).
Step 2: Yeast
Place dry yeast in a soup bowl with sugar and 1/8 cup of warm water and let sit in a warm place until foamy.
Step 3: Dry Ingredients to Wet & Knead
Step 4: Rise & Shape
Roll out all 9 balls into a 18" long strands.
Gather dough in three sets of 3 strands and make 3 braids.
Place two braids together on a floured baking sheet then place the third braid in the center top of the other two braids.
Step 5: Rise & Bake
Preheat the oven at 350 degrees on convection.
Beat the remainder egg white & 1/2 yolk and brush on top.
Sprinkle with organic sesame seeds.
Bake for 30 minutes and let cool before cutting.
