Kinda Brand New Firing System

Kinda Brand New Firing System

I came up with this firing system before I joined Instructables. I have seen a primitive example of this system that was from three years ago, but this person did not post any further instructables on this firing system. I already had built a prototype around two years ago before I saw this instructable. So please, dont call me on this.

Pros:
Innovative
Accurate
Long-ish range
Small piece count

Cons:
Not really powerful
Somewhat flimsy
Prototype

This is my first instructable (just thought you might want to know)
If you decide to use this mech give me credit, or I will find you!

Due to many people saying theyve seen this before, I shall state that this is not a new firing system
So stop posting comments that this is not new, because I will know if you have even read the instructable or not
Don't forget to rate it!

So it aint "kida brand new" either. Title should say "Was-new-3-years-ago-but -since-then-some-other-guy-built-it-so-I-guess-it-ain't-new-anymore firing system" Waddaya say?

he was making a joke.

Not new. Seen it before. Sorry. HOWEVER, I tried a much more complicated way of achieving the same result in which the ram is completely controlled, with no success, so I have to give you credit for that.

Loosewire's diagram of a sear system on Mepain's "how to make a good knex weapon" ible would function better.

My own ideas, and I've seen another one somewhere, can quite pick it from my memories.
Mar 15, 2009. 2:16 PMThe Jamalam says:
are you saying this is new? because it isn't. It is the simple transfer of rotation into moving a blocker down.
Mar 17, 2009. 12:27 PMThe Jamalam says:
ummm yes it is.
Mar 17, 2009. 1:38 PMThe Jamalam says:
well, from what i can see the firing pin is pushed above the barrel hole and the trigger is BLOCKING the way.
Mar 18, 2009. 11:50 AMThe Jamalam says:
its the same sort of thing. both work on this gun.
Mar 19, 2009. 9:21 AMThe Jamalam says:
that is wrong. BOTH of thosefiring mechs work on this gun.
Mar 17, 2009. 12:30 PMThe Jamalam says:
so... you seem to be upset about a bit of criticism. I'm just saying that it is not new. you didn't get mad at oompa did you.
Mar 17, 2009. 1:38 PMThe Jamalam says:
how is what i said any different? I pointed out it is nothing new.
Mar 18, 2009. 11:53 AMThe Jamalam says:
i never dissed it. i just said it wan't new.
Mar 17, 2009. 12:37 PMThe Jamalam says:
it is stopping the firing pin from being lowered to reach the barrel. this mech was in the first gun i built, and it is much better and controlled. i might post.
Mar 17, 2009. 12:31 PMThe Jamalam says:
and also, a blocker is anything that is NOT a true trigger but blocks the firing pin. Don't get to proud, it's nothing special.
Mar 17, 2009. 12:28 PMThe Jamalam says:
you think i'm jealous of this? You have a way overinflated opinion of yourself dude.
Mar 17, 2009. 10:17 AMRMConstruction says:
HA!
Mar 17, 2009. 10:18 AMRMConstruction says:
I've been a mem about 10 monts now, and i've seen the mech before. Like oompa, i can't quite remind myself where...
Mar 16, 2009. 1:14 AMsammyb says:
Well done
Mar 16, 2009. 7:07 PMDrWeird117 says:
Okay, this got around 28 feet. So shut up, and I've never seen it, so...good weapon. People should actually build before they judge. By the way, can I use your "credit" joke, because I'm too much of a sad and lazy mook to think up my own comedy?
