Introduction: Bread Stir Fry

A stir fry is a Chinese method of frying vegetables in a pan with very small amount of oil. There are a lot of variants for this simple recipe, like chicken stir fry or egg stir fry and so on.

In this Instructable, I'll show you the recipe for bread stir fry. Yeah you heard it right, it sounds weird, but it is a very tasty snack to enjoy. The flavor of the vegetables gets absorbed by the crispy bread and overall, it's a quick delight to enjoy when you're in a hurry. So let's get cooking !!

Step 1: Ingredients

For this quick recipe, you'll need to get your hands on the following ingredients :

  • Bread (5-6 Slices)
  • Red Onion (1)
  • Tomato (1)
  • Carrots (2)
  • Beans (4-5)
  • Ginger Garlic Paste
  • Oil
  • Salt

That's all you need, so let's get started.

Step 2: Prep the Veggies

As the great chef Gordon Ramsay says, it's always best for you to keep every ingredient ready to be used before starting to cook. So the first thing to do is to clean and chop the vegetables.

Slice the onion into thin strips and chop the beans and the carrots into small pieces Also cut the tomato into small pieces.

Step 3: The Bread

You can use any bread for this recipe. It may be a loaf of sandwich bread or a loaf of soft milky bread. Here I'm using the soft bread so that the flavor gets into the bread nicely.

Tear the bread into small chunks with your hand and put it in a bowl. The chunks may need not be of any precise shape and size. Just tear it out into pieces that can easily fit into your mouth.

Now that you have all your ingredients prepared and ready, it's time to cook.

Step 4: Fry the Veggies

The traditional stir fry contains very little oil, but since we need the flavor to reach the bread , increase the oil a little bit more.

Heat some oil in a pan and add some cumin seeds to it when it's heated. Stir it well and add in the onions.

Once the onions are cooked, add 1 Tsp of ginger garlic paste and stir it well.Now add in the chopped beans and carrots. Fry them till all the vegetables are cooked and soft. To make this process fast, you can add in a pinch of salt.

Add the chopped tomatoes and fry till everything is cooked.

Now add the required amount of salt.

Step 5: In Goes the Bread

After the vegetables are properly cooked and you've added the required amount of salt, it's time to add in the chunks of bread.

Slowly take a handful of bread chunks and add it into the fry, after adding everything into the pan, mix it well.

Step 6: Stir and Serve

After adding all the bread into the pan, give it a nice stir till you see that the bread is properly mixed between the vegetables, leaving you with a colorful mixture.

Now transfer it into a serving bowl and serve it with some green chutney or some tomato sauce. Also garnish it with some coriander leaves.
