Introduction: Breakfast Pastie, Great 15 Min Breakfast!

About: Hi, I'm stephen, I'm a certified welder, working on my machinists cert, and working part time at a hardware store. Mixing in all of that with my hobbies of blacksmithing and knifemaking, only makes for more f…

This is a recipe for a awesome breakfast I cooked up about a week ago. It can be prepared in approx 15 min (if you remember to preheat the oven) ('did you turn on the oven?', 'uhh... (beep beep) yep').

Update - I finally made the biscuit "ible" I promised, so now you can see how to make the biscuit dough like I do.  Homemade biscuits

Step 1: Ingredients

one slice of cheese
2 slices bacon (you can also use sausage)
2 eggs, scrambled.
biscuit dough; you can use premade, but I use homemade. (but thats another instructable)
table spoon of milk

and one preheated oven(450 degrees)

Step 2: Cooking Eggs

crack the 2 eggs into a plastic cup, pour in the tablespoon of milk and stir well. If desired mix in some salt and pepper.
Pour the eggs in a hot buttered pan and cook until they clump together but don't brown them!

*Authors note, if you want to add chopped onions, this is by far the best time, they gett cooked better this way, and taste awesome in the pastie*

Step 3: Cooking the Bacon

Cook the bacon in the best way you know how, I like to cook it in the pan I just did the eggs in. Some people microwave it, just do it the way you've been taught.

Step 4: Building the Pastie

Roll the biscuit dough to about 3 hands long and 2 hands wide. Once you have that done you need to fill it, first you lay the cheese down in the middle of the dough, next you do the bacon and top the bacon with the eggs (it doesn't have to be in that order).
when the Pastie is full you need to fold the other half of the dough over the top, crimp the edges on the sides together so it stays together well.

Step 5: Folding and Preparing the Pastie

when the Pastie is full you need to fold the other half of the dough over the top, crimping the edges on the sides together so it stays together well. before you put it in the oven make sure you put air holes in the top

Step 6: Baking

you should have preheated the oven at the start, if you didn't do that then start over completely. Put the Pastie in the oven (duh) and set the timer for 10-12 minutes. take out when brown on the top. If you desire then you can brush some butter on the top.

Step 7: Enjoying

I like to cut it in half and hold it in my hand to eat, my sis likes to eat it with a fork, works both ways. now eat and enjoy your awesome breakfast.

B.T.W. if you come up with any great Ideas / modifications for this tell me so in the comments.

Step 8: The Biscuit Dough

I plan to do an instructable on making biscuits with this recipe, but I'll go ahead and type up the recipe here.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) softened butter
  • 5 1/4 cups flour
  •  3 TBSP  baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 1/4 cups milk

Mix the dry ingredients with the butter. When well mixed slowly add milk till it's at the right consistently. Add milk slowly, but quickly (I know, I know). The main thing is, you need to knead the dough as little as possible. Mix in the milk, and stop as soon as it's the right consistency.

Once it's finished, you can use it for breakfast pasties, dumplings, and even (gasp) biscuits. Keep an eye out for the actual biscuit ible.
