Trassin, I live in the U.P. (Michigan) and thought this might be good but I think I am going to go for a smaller version of the "old windows" greenhouse instead.... did you try this one, if so how did it work for you?

How cold does it get where you live? I'm in northern Illinois and want to build something similar to this for on my balcony this winter. My concern is that it won't be warm enough without having a heat source inside of it hot enough to melt the plastic if it touched the side. I was thinking about using a combination of a milk jug filled with water painted black and heat trace cord to provide heat on cold nights.
