You will need:

3 medium size binder clips
1 large binder clip
1 sharpie pen
2 ink pens with colored end caps (or pencils). They need not be working.
3 CD's (one preferably silver and unscratched).
Glue stick
Hot melt glue gun or other adhesive (in a pinch, tape will also work).

I had waaaaaaay to much fun with this. I'm afraid my OCD took over and I went a little bit overboard. The colors were nail polish I raided from my wife's collection. The nubby thing on the saucer section is a piece of wax I molded using the bottom of a wine glass. Also I added a deflector array to the front of the hull (not pictured). It was a dime I pounded into a concave shape. Thanks for the fun project.

Just letting you know, but defacing government coins is illegal.
Aethereal in reply to spizmanApr 28, 2012. 8:05 PM
Only if it has the Queen on it; you can draw on American bills and wreck the coins. You're not supposed to, but it's not illegal. It is if it's a Canadian dime though xP

how did u get the little hump in the center. U did great on this it rocks!
potatojesus in reply to Keira_YagamiFeb 4, 2009. 9:07 PM
I had a wine goblet that I used as a mold. I took a tea candle and took out the wick. I sprayed the inside of the goblet with cooking spray then put the candle in the goblet. Then I stuck it in the microwave to melt the wax. After it melted into the bottom of the goblet I put the goblet in the frig so it would set up. With some gentle prying, the molded piece of wax popped right out. I made two, one for the bottom and one for the top of the saucer section. I did have to sand to flat part of the wax a bit to flatten it a bit. Then I glued to to the saucer.

Great model! The first link above, to cloudster dot com doesn't seem to work. It looks like that domain isn't registered. Are you sure it's the correct link? The other one is fine. Thanks.

You forgot the "rollbar" on the Reliant model, you have to have the rollbar otherwise it's just a Miranda v.II (Miranda being the class of ship)... :) Love the models though... :D

musicalbee2003 in reply to musicalbee2003Feb 4, 2009. 7:59 PM
Here's mine! I just whipped it together in 20 minutes. I'll probably improve it as I find better parts and ways to configure the components.
Next up:
The space museum Fuseli from the webcomic Starlslip
Serenity from firefly.
these will probably be quite difficult to find parts for.

Haah yeah! Nice work! I was surprised to find that you'd made these out of trash-bound items (other than the paperclips of course, but those can still be used after the Enterprise is blasted to bits. This is really cool, and probably fun to challenge people at the office.
