Step 12New Helmet needed
I purchased a HArd Hat at home depot for $7 bucks, pulled off the straps (becuase they raise the helmet off your head too much and hot glued some padding in it, I ripped off an old bicycle helmet.
the reuslts were much, much better.
I made the sides thinnner and reused the side flaps and antannae from the first helmet. I recommend this one instead of using a snowboard helmet!
The face shield was cut then painted metalic to match the other parts of the costume. It's removable and held in place by 2 small pieces of velcro on the inside. I plan on purchasing a pair of blue tinted sun glasses to wear underneath as I've already got severe tunnel vision in this helmet and don't need to further reduce my line of sight.
Don't forget... PRIMER THEN PAINT!!! IT'S A MUST!!!

I found some blue sunglasses at Party City that have LED's. They complete the look nicely.
I spackled all of the cardboard edges on all the pieces for the helmet. The biggest gaps I had was the fitting of the top piece over the top of the helmet. Since I had already painted everything individually, I filled in most of it with hot glue. Once it dries, it kind of blends in and I didn't have to paint over it.
I don't have any pics of the top or back of the helmet on my laptop. I'm out of town and can't take any more for about a week. I'll put some up when I can.
Glad you got some LED glasses. My daughter calls them Wobble Goggles. If you've ever seen Imagination Movers on Disney, you know what I'm talking about.
