That is pretty cool.... really cool. I've made yarn out of plastic bags for a couple years now by using strips and a serger, ( http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=79616 ) and bags are used in little tiny crafts, so its *really* good to see folks use them in something on this scale. I'm going to have to goggle these folks for info about the diamond knotted rug.... tho I had thought about setting up a "warp" over/around the kitchen door, so that you just weave in bags in as you get them.
