Introduction: Butter Omelette
In cuisine, an omelette or omelet is a dish made from beaten eggs fried with butter or oil in a frying pan. According to me, I would say 90% of egg consumers will agree on the fact that an Omelette is the most amazing ever egg inventions.
This Instructable is a treat to all the egg lovers, where I'll be showing you a simple recipe on how to cook a Butter Omelette. This is a very simple recipe and everyone has their own versions of it. This is my version of the Butter Omelette. So let's get cooking.
Step 1: Ingredients
This recipe probably has the least possible ingredients. For this You'll need:
- Eggs (2)
- Pepper Powder
This will be just enough for one serving, so, if you need more just increase the quantities in the same ratio.
Step 2: Break and Whisk
The first step is to carefully break two eggs into a bowl. Two eggs will serve for one person, so if you're cooking for more than one person, increase the number of eggs by 2 per person.
Begin whisking the egg in a gentle way till the yolk and the egg white are decently mixed.
Step 3: The Taste Makers
While the yolk is somewhat mixed with the egg whites, add about a tea spoon of pepper and give it a gentle mix.
Salt is the best known taste-maker in the world, almost every recipe requires salt. So as the pepper powder is being mixed, add the same amount of salt and start mixing.
Step 4: Whisking Style
Usually we don't concentrate on beating the eggs so much, but in this recipe, I suggest you to whisk the eggs very thoroughly so that there is maximum air contact with the mixture.
A tip to do that is that when you're whisking the eggs, do it in an '8' shaped pattern. The more you whisk the more bubbles you will see. This will help keep the omelette soft and light.
Step 5: Heat Up the Pan
For this omelette, the frying pan need not be too hot. Because the slower it cooks the better.
Add a little bit of butter on the pan and heat it up. Once the pan is heated up, the whisked eggs are ready to be poured on to it.
Step 6: Pour and Cook
Now that the pan is properly heated, pour the whisked eggs on the pan. Pour it completely from the center and let it take up a circular shape.
Another important tip is to not touch the omelette while it's being cooked.
After the omelette is decently cooked, check the bottom to see a golden brown color. This means that it's done. You can slide in a few small chunks of butter under the omelette at this time if you'd want it to be more buttery in taste.
Step 7: Serve Hot
Once the bottom of the omelette has turned golden brown in color, fold it gently on the pan and transfer it on to the serving plate.Note that we're only cooking one side of the omelette.
Garnish the omelette with a chunk of butter on top and a little bit of coriander leaves finely chopped. Serve it with a little tomato ketchup for an awesome snack.
