CUSTOMIZE YOUR XBOX 360 FACEPLATE

how to customize your xbox 360's face plate!

what you need:
pencil
sharpies or spray paint or whatever you will paint it with
clear coat spray paint
an xbox faceplate
2 hands

Step 1 Planning

ok the first step is to think of somthing to paint on it.

you might want to trace a teplate of the face plate and sketch it out on paper

then take a pencil and draw out what ever you want to paint on, now is a good time to decide if you want to use sharpies or spray paint.

DId anyone think to print out pics/photos/drawings on tracing paper in color and modpodge them directly onto the faceplate? The tracing paper virtually disappears when mod podged, leaving only the image showing. Makes it easier to get your image right before applying it to the faceplate, since you're drawing it on paper first...

i have a black face plate but dont know what to do..!!! what could i paint/draw on it??

you could paint the faceplate/enite xbox some color you want and paint your design

i would try to use some white chalk to plan your pattern, but yeah you can paint on it.

very cool, i hav an old xbox that has red rings of death so ill fix it add faceplate paint and paint the controller and sell it on ebay but if it looks great i might keep it.

If you dont want it to smudge I would recomend Hair spray. Spray Let it sit for 10 minutes Spray Let it sit for 10 minutes So on so forth This also can give a nice effect at times.

You can buy cans of finish coat. You put ten layers on a guitar but you could use less on this.

I would reccomend giving a bit more information, or maybe walking through making one of your designs! I'd like to see more!

but with the steampunky one i just sketched out the gears and put masking tape in the parts i didnt want to paint (in between the cogs and on all the silver parts.) and i just spray painted it gold for the skullcandy i just printed out a picture of there logo cut out the eyes and nose and parts and traced around it with a sharpie.

well its just really hard to walk someone through making one of these because once you get started you just sorta go off in other directions. i guess its just the creative process the best thing is just to start. and see where that takes you.
