Step 1: Ingredients
•1 Coffee Mug
•4 TBSP. Flour
•4 TBSP. Sugar
•2 TBSP. Cocoa
•3 TBSP. Milk
•3 TBSP. Oil
•SMALL Splash of Vanilla
•1 Teaspoon Peanut Butter (Optional*)
•3 TBSP. Chocolate Chips (Optional*)
Step 2: *WARNING*
- You will want to have an area that you can get messy, PUT A PAPER TOWEL DOWN!
- Warning: You will need a LARGE mug that can hold 12 oz.
Step 3: Mix Flour, Sugar, Cocoa
1) Fill mug with the (4 Tbsp.) flour, (4 tbsp.) sugar, and (2 tbsp.) of cocoa
•Remember that you need to round off the tbsp.
Step 4: Mix Until Well Blended
Mix all the dry ingredients well until blended
WARNING: This part will be messy with dry ingredients, Put paper towel down under the mug!
Step 5: Mix Oil, Milk, Vanilla
4) Now add to the mug (3tbsp.) oil, (3tbsp.) milk, and the splash of vanilla to the mug.
*splash of vanilla is less than a tsp.
Mix ingredients well
Step 6: Add Egg
Now crack the egg into the mug into the dry mixture. Stir it up until well blended and the yellow is gone.
*If shells fall into mug, use spoon to take them out*
Step 7: Extra Ingredients *Optional*
–This is where you can add extra ingredients
•6) You can add 3 tbsp. of chocolate chips or
•7) You can also add 1 tsp. of PB
–for purposes of this instruction set, we only added the 1 tsp. of peanut butter, make sure you mix this up
Step 8: Mix Peanut Butter
Mix peanut butter well with the mix
Step 9: Time to Bake!
•Now it is time to bake the cake
•First put napkin over mug, then put mug into microwave for 3 minutes on 1000 watts
–Note: for higher wattage microwaves reduce the time by 30 second increments
–For lower wattage increase time by 30 second increments
Step 10: *WARNING*
Warning! Mug will be hot, so remove with an oven mitt!
Step 11: Toothpick Test
To make sure that the cake is done, insert a toothpick in the middle of the cake. If the toothpick comes out clean (or without cake crumbs) your cake is done!
Step 12: ENJOY CAKE IN a MUG!
Let cake cool for 2 minutes!
- Find a fork or spoon and enjoy your molten cake in a mug!
