Cut a hole in one surface of the bag. It should be a little smaller than the filter. I found a quarter-inch margin was about right.

I just want to say- you don't need to go thru all this mark and cut stuff. Just screw the bag onto the lens without ever worrying about the waterproofing. Take a bag, put the camera into it, Streach the plastic over the lens and screw a cheap, disposable filter over it, don't even worry about how totally sealed it is. If you are going to go diving hundreds of feet below the earths surface- OK! You better not listen to me. If you are needing to have a perfect sand - free protector, then ok! But if you just need a simple way to protect your camera- screw it on a bag and cut the excess bag over the lens. You knew that! Thanks!
