Introduction: Candy Cane Chocolate Popcorn Crunch

Highly addictive and Easy to make. White chocolate and mint candy covered popcorn..

Step 1: Gather Supplies

26 Cups of popped popcorn ( About 2 cups of un-popped kernels )
3 Cups of white chocolate melting wafers
2/3 cup of crushed candy canes (Any flavor)
A small amount of oil
Tin Foil
Larger belt ( you'll need this later )

Step 2: Crush the Candy Canes

Crush the canes I found a food processor powdered them , so I used a plastic bag and rolling pin and after a few good whacks it was a nice size..

Step 3: Pop Popcorn

Pop the popcorn kernels, I use a stove top, but a hot air popper or a microwave also work great . When done allow the popcorn to cool.. ( I have also found it easier to make more popcorn, then trying to keep the kids hands out of the bowl )

Step 4: White Chocolate

Melt white chocolate melting wafers until smooth and all the wafers are gone, I recommend either a double boiler, or microwave oven however you can also do it on a stove top but be very careful not to burn the chocolate.

If you use white chocolate chips you need to add a tablespoon of butter once melted to soften the chocolate when it hardens , this will also make it smoother and easier to work with..

Step 5: Mix Together

Add the melted Chocolate wafers to the popcorn and stir until it's fully coated, this is when the kids will make there second appearance just in time to lick the bowls clean.

Step 6: Add Crushed Candy Canes

Add crushed candy canes and stir, the kids are helpful at this point if you can get them to slowly add the powder while it's being stirred...

Step 7: Pour and Cool

Pour the covered popcorn on a sheet to allow it to cool and harden you can use a teflon cookie sheet, or some tinfoil/ parchment paper/ wax paper.

Allow the popcorn to cool until hard and then break it apart by hand in small bite size pieces and place it in a bowl, eat and enjoy it.

If you can prevent your self and or the kids from carrying it away and eating all of it store it in a cool airtight container ..

This makes great small gifts, it also sells very well at local farmers markets and it's an office favorite that people seem to wait all year to get...
