This is maid out of maple and cherry.

Step 1: Rough Cut Your Cherry

Cut two boards of cherry to 37inch by 7/8inch wide. Then cut two more boards of cherry at 15 inch by 1 inch.

Step 2: Rough Cut Your Maple

Cut one peace of maple to 37 inch
by 1/4 inch. Then cut two peace's to 15 inch by 1 inch. Lastly cut two board's 3 inch by 1 inch.

Step 3: Preview

Set on a table to look at which way you want to glue them together.

Step 4: Glue/ Clamp

Glue all of them together and have someone help you clamp them together.

Step 5: Plane

Then take all of your clamps off. Then plane it to get it even.

Step 6: Trace

Trace the template on your planed boards and cut it out with the band saw.

Step 7: Cnc Somthing on the Handle

This is an optional thing you can do but it looks better with something on it.

Step 8: Taper Blade

Use the hand planer to taper the blade to desired thickness.

Step 9: Sanding

Then to get the handle rounded use a file to get a rough rounded edge. Then take a orbital sander and sand the edges and the face of the paddle. Also find the middle of the paddle blade and drill a 5/16 inch hole in the center. Then put the paddle back on the Cnc but make sure the back side is up and router a groove so your clock pice fits in it.

Step 10: Finishing

Then paint the letters black(optional if you want to) and let dry then you can sand the excess paint off. Then put on two coats of polyurethane let each one dry. Then use a fine grit of sand paper and gently sand the polyurethane. Then put to more coats of poly on and lastly sand with steel whole. Put the numbers and center them around your hole finally put the clock hands on and your done!
