Drain the liquid from the container of mozzarella balls and replace it with 1 cup of your favorite flavored balsamic vinegar. (I use blackberry/ginger). Let them sit for 30 minutes, stirring them around every few minutes. Meanwhile, separate the basil leaves from the stems. Then rinse and pat dry. Rinse the tomatoes and pat them dry as well. Build the skewers by stabbing a tomato the long way, and push it about 2 inches up. Then add a basil leaf. You can get this far as early a the morning of your party. (The mozzarella can marinate as long as 12 hours). Just before the guests arrive, remove the mozzarella balls from the marinade and push them onto the ends of the skewers. Salt and pepper to taste and serve.
