Step 6Smooth out bolt area with body filler

Smooth out bolt area with body filler
Bondo body filler was used to fill in and smooth out the areas where the bolt holes had been. This was actually my first time using bondo. My dad used it for everything, so the distinct smell brought back all sorts of memories of stuff my dad had either made for fixed with it.

After the bondo cured, it was sanded smooth with 100 grit sandpaper.

My Dad works as an auto body man and the smell of Bondo makes me feel like a little kid.

Bondo for sure has a distinct smell to it, and its a smell that will bring back memories quick because of that. JB Weld is the same way for me, it kind of has a puppy breath smell going, at least that's how I sense it smelling like. If I can find a dish I'm planning on making this for my son, doing the paint well will be the only challenge for me on this, I have never been too good at making and painting neatly. Thanks for sharing because I never would have thought about using a dish, but after seeing it I don't know how I couldn't think about using one!
