I've been playing around with mechanical things you can make from cardboard, and I made this cardboard spring. It's really simple, and fun to sproing, hop, or just wave around!

Cut out some cardboard squares.

Peel back the cardboard.

Tape peeled edges together.

Sproing!

P.S. If you think of something cool to make using this (and it's still before 7/13/12), you should enter it in my Cardboard Challenge!

YUSS! Maddeningly simple -- especially with the unique format you always use. Thank you for bringing this brilliant idea to lights (Now if you excuse me, Imma get into some trouble with these >:)).

Great. My pet peeve is when the Kleenex box is down to half the next tissue doesn't pop up. I'll make this spring and put it under the tissue and solve the problem.

Oh, I like that! If you do that (soon), you should enter it in my Cardboard Challenge!

Saw something similar to this in Cambodia, made from rounds cut from returnable soda bottle. The assembly was pierced through with three feathers, and it was used in a game similar to hacky-sack.

Very clever!

Many years ago, there was a nationwide paper industry ad campaign showing a car driving over a bridge made of cardboard. In case you need something to do in your spare time!

I used to make "Corrigated Boxware" in Seattle. It's strong, especially in the heaver paper weights. 32 # and up for case goods And heaver for appliance boxes & springs..HAR.!
