Melt the wax using double boiler, or a home made double boiler with the jar (like me). I put a metallic washer at the bottom of the saucepan to help boiling water move below jar (this is not mandatory).

Add a piece of crayon of desired colour. It doesn't matter if you add some rests of other coloured wax.

This will take few minutes. Stir it with the stick to accelerate process.

WARNING:
  • Wax is flammable, so you must use this method for melting it, because the water temperature is always below wax's flash point (150 'C, 300 'F).
  • Don't put so much water, because the jar will raise it.
  • Be aware there is always water. If you need to add more, stop fire, get the jar and add water. Then continue melting.
