Although the appearance and the capabilities of robots vary vastly, all robots share the feature of a mechanical, movable structure under some form of control. The Control of robot involves three distinct phases: perception, processing and action. Generally, the preceptors are sensors mounted on the robot , processing is done by the on-board microcontroller or processor, and the task is perfomed using motors or with some other actuators.

Signing UpStep 1: PROJECT OVERVIEW
The received tone is processed by the atmega16 microcontroller with the help of DTMF decoder MT8870 the decoder decodes the DTMF tone in to its equivalent binary digit and this binary number is send to the microcontroller, the microcontroller is preprogrammed to take a decision for any give input and outputs its decision to motor drivers in order to drive the motors for forward or backward motion or a turn.
The mobile that makes a call to the mobile phone stacked in the robot acts as a remote. So this simple robotic project does not require the construction ofreceiver and transmitter units.
DTMF signaling is used for telephone signaling over the line in the voice frequency band to the call switching center. The version of DTMF used for telephone dialing is known as touch tone.
DTMF assigns a specific frequency (consisting of two separate tones) to each key s that it can easily be identified by the electronic circuit. The signal generated by the DTMF encoder is the direct al-gebric submission, in real time of the amplitudes of two sine(cosine) waves of different frequencies, i.e. ,pressing 5 will send a tone made by adding 1336hz and 770hz to the other end of the mobile. The tones and assignments in a dtmf system shown below

im very interested in GMS or DTMF projects
i want to learn it
could u please mail me a soft copy of your project along with circuits and datasheet ?
thankyou so much in advance and im waiting for your reply
i am working on this same project......
i use ATMEGA16 controller ic.
my problem is that the controller's port-D is connected to motor driver ic-L293D. But i don't get the output from port-D thus i don't give the output signal to both DC motors. So what is problem in my circuit??????
please give me some answer as possible........
note: mobile should be on self answering mode

i have an IC of ATMEGA32
can i use your hex code of atmega16 to burn into atmega32????
shoud it work properly???
or would we have to change something in hex program
plz...... tell me sir???

i so much interested in this project..... please can you send the total information about the project...
this is my email id: ramzuniverse@gmail.com
its easy
plz reply soon
(or mail me at littlegenius95@gmail.com)
couldnt see the numbers written before on the not gates

If you want to rotate it than connect a dc motor vertically and fit camera on it move that motor with the signal coming from microcontroller.
To know how to build mobile controlled robot and its program you can refer to my blog robolabz.mutiply.com
so we can locate the position using a computer
Regards
khush kar ditta..
this is my project, even the picture and the block diagrams are from my presentation. Mr. Nitin Sharma had copied it from my web site, www.raghu.co.nr ..
But sill happy to see the great response ....

thank's in advance....
I have chosen this as my final year project and almost completed it. I need the complete documentation of this project. Please mail it to me as soon as possible. My email id is santoshks1987@gmail.com
Please send me the complete documentation of "Cell Phone Operated Robot"
I want to make this project as my Btech final year project.
It is needed urgently at this time. so please mail me.
My email id is swatimmmec7@gmail.com
Thanking you.
my email is selena.ahmetovic@yahoo.com
thx anyway
sudhamshachandra@yahoo.co.in. please and why are using capacitors and two resistors before the dtmf decoder. thank u.
My Question is that 4 Cellphone control robot.
While taking right turn or left turn .How we will be knowing. We are not able to see it right.
We are operating some where else.Pls help me out.
Regards,
Sredhar.
can you help me how i can connect 8 motors in this.
can you send me a mail at srikanth06n41a0441@ymail.com
can i attach a jack to connect a headphone at the place of wires plz help
i had the project with atmel8
no,both of them are not same,R/C uses radio freq. and the range is also limited
this project uses DTMF to controll, and it is more advance tech...........
the project is easy
use c or assembly language to coad the controller.........
the diode is a silicon diode so a drop of 0.7V will be their and the controller gets around 5.3V,which is sufficient for it.........
what is that code purpose??? why we use that code????4 wt we r using that????
try this out.
i also made this project in my final year semester..i wish i could help you..
mail me to madhosingh@gmail.com
i will try to sort out your problems if possible....
Thank you in advance.
i saw your project at instructables.com,
its amaizing project i like it.
can u send me this project's report or documentation of this project ?
please mail to vijapurnikhil@yahoo.co.in
help me please
but you should know all the microcontroller basics and a little bit of C Programming Language
I put some stuff in my blog reIated to this topic
hope that it will help you
n i want it to use mobile phone's cameras
please reply soon.... my email is: hardyboom@gmail.com
it would be better if you could give a photo snap of headphone-to-circuit connections in your completed project.
and
how to check whether micro controller is embedded with pgm properly?
can we use a Sony Ericsson handsfree?
1) Can some1 tell if i can replace the MT8870 with MC145436 DTMF Decoder?
http://www.datasheetcatalog.com/datasheets_pdf/M/C/1/4/MC145436.shtml
2)I what do i need to do about the interface between the phone and the DTMF decoder?
3) and is 0.47mF = 470uF.....and what voltage do i need for this capacitor?
which is that the right one to get??

i was really interested wit dis robot of urs so decided to do dis as my final yr engineering proj...
taut dat v improve it by addin more features like implementing a cam on it, do u ave any better ideas to do dis (how to transmitt n recive video signals)....??
n also v taut to use the rest of the keys(1,3,6,7..) to increase the features for example pressin 1 will turn on the light (also mounted on robo) but v cant do dis wit single MT8870D so can v use 2 MT8870D's?? if so how....??
plz reply.....'
