# 1. Remove the strings OR remove the neck to have some workspace when changing the pickguard.
# 2. Remove the Volume, Tone and Tone knobs and the switch tip with pushing them up with your fingers, and the nuts holding the pots with pliers.
# 3. Unscrew the pickguard screws. There are pickguards with eleven screws and eight screws.
# 4. Lift the pickguard, gently, and turn it more or less upside down.
# 5. Unscrew the selector switch. There are 2 screws.
# 6. Unscrew the pickups and try to catch the little springs as they fall off. The springs may stick to the pickup magnets. You will need the springs to adjust the pickup position. The covers from the pickups will lift off.
