 This is a cheap dish made from stuff you probably already  have in your kitchen

Ingredients
1 Lb of cut beef, pork , chicken
Some hard crisp veggies carrots, onions,  peppers
2 cups rice
water
COOKING OIL (i use sunflower oil i think its the best)
you need a deep pan filled with at least 3 inches of oil

Batter:
2 cups just add water pancake mix
1 1/2 cup gingerale

Sweet & Sour Sauce
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup tomato paste (or 1/4 cup ketchup if you dont have paste)
(garlic, ginger or pineapple juice if you want to get fancy)


Step 1: STEP ONE: Get Your Cooking Stuff Ready

Ok your going to need a wok but i dont have one so you i am using
1 large skillet
1 medium sized pot with lid
1 small sauce pan
and a deep pan at least 5 inches wide

A large bowl
a medium sized mixing bowl
a slotted spoon
measuring cups
large plate paper towels

Step 2: STEP TWO: Start the Rice!

Ok there are a lot of different rices. This is the cheap minute stuff.
So depending on  what rice your using. this may change so just follow the cooking instruction on the rice box for 4 servings.
  But your should always rinse your rice first just like you would on pasta.
 So making this rice was

2 cups rice
2 cups water

Add rice and water to the pot cover set range to MED

Step 3: STEP THREE: Start Your Oil

Use sunflower seed oil, its the best for deep frying, it has the highest smoke point the point where oil burns, and is very low in saturated fats and bad cholesterol.

 So you need as much oil to fill your med pan at least 3 inches deep.
any less and your stuff will stick to the bottom

ok set your oven to MED and go onto your veggies.

Step 4: STEP FOUR: Cut Up Your Veggies

 Ok here is a quick picture chopping veggie picture guide.

but just cut then in thin pieces about 3 inches long.

i used 3 peppers one onion and 4 carrots plus some ginger and garlic
Chop them up add them to the skillet with some oil, cover put on med - med high

  The veggies will soften when the water steam out of them, Once the veggies get soft but not mush and still have some crunch to them uncover and let the water boil off, then the oil will start to fry them. But that comes in about 15 minutes now it time to start your sauce!

Step 5: STEP FIVE: Sweet & Sour Sauce

Dont waste your money on some fancy Asian sauce make your own!

Sweet & Sour Sauce
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup tomato paste (or 1/4 cup ketchup if you dont have paste)
(garlic, ginger or pineapple juice if you want to get fancy)

Add to sauce pan stir until merged set to LOW

BY THIS TIME STIR YOUR RICE SET TO LOW COVER, YOUR OIL IS AT 350 (THE TEMP FOR FRYING) AND YOUR VEGGIES ARE STEAMED TO PROPER CRUNCHINESS,  TURN THE VEGGIES DOWN TO LOW STIR.

Step 6: STEP SIX: the Easiest Tempura Batter You Can Make

2 cups just add water pancake mix
1 1/2 cups gingerale

mix in  your mixing bowl

This works for ANYTHING veggies meats anything try it out!

Toss in your chopped whatever were using beef strips cut up already for stir fry and mix the beef and batter

Step 7: STEP SEVEN: Frying Your Tempura Battered Beet Strips

  Ok your Oil is hot BE CAREFUL
and take a single battered covered beef strip and place it in the hot oil, depending on your pans width add about  4 - 5 more quickly.
   Now the secret to deep frying if it floats its probably cooked,
 Your beef battered strips with start to float, and turn a light brown, turn then around over and over so until its all golden brown.
  Remove the piece and place on paper towel, to drain excess oil.
   This will take a while to do all the pieces. During this time your rice should be cooked you can just turn that off, and cap it. Your Sauces needs to be stirred and has thickened.  And your veggies are soft but mushy and have that crisp fried outside.

Step 8: STEP EIGHT: Mix & Serve

Ok yoru rice is done, your veggies are done your sauce is done and your just finished all of the battered beef strips.
Now take the Tempura beef strips and the veggies add to large mixing bowl and stir in all of your sauce.

 Plate up some rice and top with YOUR HOME MADE SWEET & SOUR TEMPURA  BEEF!

eat enjoy then look at the giant mess you made and say you'll get it in the morning:)
