Step 4Crappy wanna-be schematic
This poorly drawn schematic just might aid you in reading my poorly written instructions.
I don't know how to use Eagle, and I didn't feel like getting all the symbols, but I think the text will suffice. I think the image pretty much speaks for itself.
The break above the Power LED is the power switch

What's the difference between the power LED and the status LED? Sorry I'm kind of new at this and this may sound like a dumb question but I thought we only had 2 LEDs; a red one and green one.

The "Status LED" is a red one that indicates charge. It is likely that your camera came with one; I desoldered mine and attached a different 5mm Red LED. The "Power LED" did not exist on the original circuit, so I put a green LED in parallel with the circuit board and voila! a green LED that indicates power.

Thats strange. all of the cameras i got had a status led built in. i tought most disposable cameras came with them.
