Cheep Light Bulb Hack Vaporizer

Yeah, the negs are really ignorant and fear based. Do some reading folks. There are lots of uses for these including Pot. Which if you were going to use one of these rather than "smoke" the pot, it's like night and day health wise anyway. Ask any doctor. Wake up kids, did to many of you grow up in the fear mongering 80's? Open your cultural mind. What's next, are the catholic users going to tell people not to post Jewish inspired ibles. Screw off dueches.

The neg comments honestly had me laughing and saying wtf. The use of this for Drugs was definitely not the first thing to cross MY mind so to all the "take this crap off" sayers, maybe a mental scrubbing is in order and possibly a little creativity so you can see the other applications for this item.

i have no problem with this 'ible because it has many uses. regardless of what could be done with it if you used drugs, the other uses are also handy in labs etc. as stated in a previous comment, laws around the world are different and since that is true, even the negative drug complaints are invalid. bottom line: this is a well done instructable and how you use it is up to you. by no means should this even be considered potentially banable. good job keep speech free fight the power mspark400

this instructable is like a gun. It depends on how you use it. One, it can be used to smok yourself sick. or two, it can be used in experiments for good things. Things similar to this are used almost daily in labs. use it how you like, but don't tell him to take it down

I would recommend anyone trying this to wear gloves. Getting that cap off is a pain and dangerous. also to the negative feed back people .. it isn't necessarily for meth .. you can also vaporize marijuana. vaporized marijuana is healthier to "smoke".

I'm really afraid about chemicals in light bulbs. Since it's glass you should be able to wash everything out of it, but this should probably be washed really well. Fluorescents are full of chemicals you don't want to inhale, but to be honest i don't know about incandescents. Further this is a conduction vaporizer which is far inferior to a convection vaporizer. This sort of vaporizer produces poor vapor and wastes lighters. Check out my convection vaporizer.

Just keep in mind the world is bigger than just the US. If it's illegal over there, it doesn't mean it shouldn't be posted on instructables. Apart from that, laws and restrictions inspire people to find inventive new ways of doing things. For instance, if you could buy vaporisers at the shop around the corner, would anyone ever have thought of finding out how they work and build one out of a busted lightbulb? If you could carry a knive around all the time, would anyone ever have tought about using chopsticks? Don't ban, discuss.

Not much of a vaporizer. Through the thin glass of a light bulb, enough heat probably gets through to still burn the oregano (yes, oregano, that's my story and I'm sticking to it) and release smoke, but probably not as much as literally lighting a cigarette or "hand-rolled 'oregano' cigar." Maybe if you keep the candle far enough so it doesn't get too hot but just close enough that it at least vaporizes, it would be alright. ...theoretically, of course.

What about flames and light bulbs? They aren't made out of Pyrex as far as I know. Will the bulb break from the application of flame, or not?

I'm not to worried about the legality, but whether or not it's wise to put your mouth on the end of a light bulb, and inhale while you're unevenly applying heat. It's not going to happen all the time, but they are going to break. That, and I'm wondering about the health hazard if someone doesn't clean all the junk that's coated in a light bulb out first before they try something with this, medicinal, or not.

ummm...medical marijuana is legal in several states and using a vaporizer is the healthiest way to consume it.

the vaporizor itself is far from illegal. what most use it for IS illegal. though some people fill these with stuff like vicks vaporub, and steam it. it clears out your lungs and sinuses quite well. P.S. please tell me that isn't a shard of meth in the vaporizor...
