I'm sure many of you would have heard of 'Cheese Straws' in fact...most of your holidays would have been incomplete without them!
Well...I thought to try and make some...and in the process to try different variations of it ...to just experiment and check and see the tastes!

So let me walk you through my experiments!

Step 1: Basic Ingredients

Ingredients

100g flour
100g cheese grated
50 g butter
1 egg beaten
1 pinch of salt
chilli powder / mustard

they look too good! I want to make them
Please do! my favorite is the onion cheese straw! :-)
Yumm! can't wait to have some!
have made them with mustard and just LOVE them, ( when I had a regular oven ). Now want to find a microwave recipe as I have one of those turbo ovens and have never mastered the baking side of it.Will look up how to do them in the micro on Google and do them again today. OH yummy !!!!!!!
Great! have fun eating them! :-)
Nice Instructable. I'll have to try some of these.

I've made something similar to the "Cheesy Cheese Straw" in step 5, but I used a rough puff pastry dough I whipped together. They were fantastic!
yes...I've heard of the puff pastry variation too....wanted to try and put that too in the instructable...but thought it might be too crowded as it's another pastry :-)...and yes...it would be fantastic as puff pastry by itself is so buttery and tasty :-)
Now these look good and easy to make!
They are...Very :-)
Love cheese straws..Yummy
true....very yummy...don't think you would buy cheese bits once you make these :-)
Hmm I need some right now.
wish I could send you some....But they just vanished within minutes!
