Step 6: Savory Cheese Straw

For this you must make your favorite filling!
mine is this  or my sisters filling from Savory Petit Four  ( we were both doing our instructables together and I used some of her leftover filling!)

Roll out your cheese dough on a floured surface and  place a strip of your favorite filling.
Roll and cover the filling up
Cut small tubes and bake!

Step 7: The Verdict??

Which is better??
I can't say! for all in my family had different opinions!
I liked the onion flavor which gave it a definite Italian twist :-)
But then I liked the drippy cheesy straw too!!!
My daughter and husband loved the savory cheese straw ....and my son's loved the crunchy crispy straw!!

So tell me...what do you like??? :-D

I'm entering this for the snack contest....so please vote if you like this! thanks :-)

Nice Instructable. I'll have to try some of these.

I've made something similar to the "Cheesy Cheese Straw" in step 5, but I used a rough puff pastry dough I whipped together. They were fantastic!

shazni (author)MercuryCrest2013-02-23

yes...I've heard of the puff pastry variation too....wanted to try and put that too in the instructable...but thought it might be too crowded as it's another pastry :-)...and yes...it would be fantastic as puff pastry by itself is so buttery and tasty :-)
