as the parent of three autistic kids, I can say that, sadly, it can't.
They figure out how to shove a butter knife or book or toy onto the latch and wiggle the drawer open. Then they play with the latch, prying it with a toy back and forth until it breaks off.
"Childproof" just doesn't work with analytical, persistent kids.
