Introduction: Chocolate Almond Sponge Cake
This is a really easy sponge cake to make, it's very soft and tastes delicious!
Step 1:
Ingredients and measurements:
Self raising flour= 250g
Sugar= 250g
Butter= 250g
Eggs = 3
Almond extract= 2 teaspoons
Vanilla extract= 1 teaspoon
Chocolate extract= 2 teaspoons
Almond slices= handful
Step 2:
Method:
Pre-heat oven to has mark 4, butter and flour your cake tin.
Step 3:
Cream the butter and sugar together, this will be easier if your butter is room temperature.
Step 4:
Next mix 3 eggs with the almond, vanilla and chocolate extract.
Step 5:
Mix the eggs in with the sugar/butter mix
Step 6:
Gradually add the flower a little at a time.
Step 7:
Once all is mixed, poor your cake batter into the cake tin,
Step 8:
sprinkle a handful of almond slices and some sugar and then place in the oven for 1 hour.
Step 9:
Remove from the oven and place on a cooling tray for 1 hour.
