Step 1: Chocolate Drizzle Cutout Dreams

Step 1: In the bowl of an electric mixer combine the butter, sugar, and confectioners' sugar on low speed; beat for 1 minute. Increase speed to medium, continue beating for 2 minutes.  (Note- I used raw sugar in this recipe, it has a slightly different color than regular sugar.)

Step 2: Beat in the eggs, vanilla extract, and butter flavoring on medium-high speed for 2-3 minutes, stopping to scrape down sides of bowl as needed until mixture is smooth and appears blended. It should be yellow in color.

Step 3: Gradually beat in the flour, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder until a dough is formed.

Step 4: Cover and refrigerate for 1-2 hours or until easy to handle.

Step 5: Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Roll out to 1/4 inch thickness.

Step 6: With a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the dough into uniform 2-inch squares. Re-roll scraps and repeat process until all dough is used.

Step 7: Space 1/2 inch to 1inch apart on ungreased baking sheets. One of the best ways to transfer the cookies to the sheets is to use a metal spatula.

Step 8: Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until set and edges are firm. Let cool on pans for 2-3 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
