Strawberry cream goes so perfect with chocolate cake. I am sharing one more dessert of mine and its this lovely combination of chocolate with strawberry cream. Its lovely to be made at any occasion. Keep Baking and enjoy eating.....NOTE: IN THE VIDEO ...Melting of cooking chocolate is actually done as 2nd step , but it wont make much difference to your chocolate cake.... but its better to do that first and then beat the eggs...and then add everything together....( my video has been over lapped by mistake )
Step 1: Ingredients
1. All purpose flour - 200 grams or 2 cups
2. Sugar- 170 grams or 1 1/2 cup
3. Cocoa powder 1/3 cup
4. vanilla essence powder- 1/2 tsp or 5 grams
5.Eggs- 2 large eggs
6. Extra sugar - 2 tbsp
7. Baking Soda- 1 tsp
8. Cooking Chocolate - 100 grams
9. Butter- 120 grams
10. Vegetable oil- 2tbsp
11. Milk- ( if Required)
( for Strawberry Cream)
1.Whipping Cream- 450 ml
2.Fresh Strawberries- 150 grams
3.Powdered Sugar- 1/4th cup
Step 2: Method
( FOR CAKE)
Start with sifting the flour , cocoa powder and baking powder in a bowl. Mix them and keep aside. Now in a double boiler , melt the cooking chocolate ,sugar , butter and add some milk to it . When every thing is melted keep it aside and let it cool at room temperature. Till then , take a bowl and add in the eggs and beat them with a beater , when its a bit fluffy add in sugar and little bit of vanilla essence. beat till soft peak of eggs ( in this recipe we don not have to beat the eggs a lot)
Now add in the egg mixture the melted chocolate mixture and mix . Now add in the dry mixture in two parts. At the end add the remaining vanilla essence. mix all well and pour the cake batter in two small baking tin (7.5 or 8 inch baking tin ) Bake them at 190 degrees for around 30 minutes.Till then prepare the strawberry cream...
(FOR STRAWBERRY CREAM)
Heat a vessel and add in 2 to 3 tbsp of water and powdered sugar. Now cut the fresh strawberries into four cuts making medium sized pieces and add in the vessel. Heat everything on low medium gas. Cover with lid for a little while.
Now , check if the strawberries are softened. When they are soft ,then turn the gas off and strain them in a bowl with help of a strainer. Let the strawberry liquid cool. Now , add half of the whipping cream in the strawberry liquid and whip it. Keep this cream in the fridge for 20 mins. Till then whip the rest of the whipping cream.
( Final layering )
Take your cakes out of the oven .Check the cakes whether done by inserting a knife or tooth pick in the middle of the cake. Let the cakes out (upside down) and let them cool completely at room temperature. Now take one cake and add on top the cold strawberry cream .
Now put on top the other cake . Lastly cover the top and sides of the cake with the whipping cream .... use your best imagination to decorate the way you like.... at the end add on top fresh strawberries.
Refrigerate for some time and have it whenever you like with green tea or just alone .... it tastes awesome... Do give a try.... worth spending energy on such delicious taste. Eat n Enjoy.
