Introduction: Chocolate Stuffed Strawberries

About: I'm a total gearhead. I love working on cars, airplanes, rockets, sailboats, whatever. Cars i've owned and/or rebuilt: 1966 Pontiac Grand Prix, 1977 Lotus Esprit, 1979 Fiat X1/9 & Strada, 1970 Ford Bronco, …

I'm all about non convention so i was thinking about how to put a twist on the classic chocolate covered strawberry.

I thought about switching the ingredients and making strawberry covered chocolates.

Well after some experimentation I ended up creating Chocolate Stuffed Strawberries.

Step 1: Ingredients

Fresh strawberries
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1 rounded teaspoon shortening (do not use butter, margarine, spread or oil)

Step 2: Partially Slice the Top of the Strawberry

Using a knife, carefully slice the top of the strawberry without cutting all the way thru.

Then carefully rotate the top open.

The area where the top is still connected will hinge nicely like a door.

Step 3: Core Out the Center of the Strawberry

Carefully core out the center of the strawberry with a sharp knive.

Step 4: Make the Chocolate Filling & Stuff the Strawberry

Combine the chocolate chips with the shortening in a microwaveable bowl or cup. Microwave for about 30 seconds until soft and mix with a spoon.

Then spoon the chocolate mixture into the strawberry.

Step 5: Voila...meet the Chocolate Stuffed Strawberry!

After you've stuffed the strawberry with chocolate, rotate the cap back on and let some of the chocolate ooze over the sides.

You can eat them right away while the chocolate is warm or store them in the refrigerator.

Enjoy
