Chopstick Rubber Band Gun

A fun, simple to make, and good for a rainy day. You only need 6 chopsticks and a grip of rubber bands (3 if you dont want any ammo).

Step 1 Materials

All you need is 6 chopsticks and a grip of rubber bands(3 if you dont want ammo) Sorry for the minor color distortion on this first picture, my camera went crazy.

This instructable was mostly to illustrate the principle behind a basic rubberband gun. When i first posted this i was like 11 and there was nothing about it on the internet, now there are some really badass ones.

i think i may have dun it rong, it fires but iv only used 5 chopsticks, and the barrel seems to be completely asthetic because i dont use it at all in my loading/firing method

its for strength, if you want to use smaller, thicker bands (more powerful) 1 chopstick there will eventually slide back.

Well its not like the tarp method is failing I was just curious if there might be an even easier way to stop arrows if you miss. It works like this when an arrow is fired at the back stop the thick material the tarp is made of actually stops it. The advice I need is that when I use the green tarp it sometimes stops it but the material the green tarp is made of is almost plastic like its not tough enough to stop a speeding arrow. Any suggestions to strengthen the green tarp?

some sort of chan mail thing, a gate, there are also some good spray on polymers that can thicken thr tarp....also, are the arrows sharp?

I build mine out of skewers cut the points off made it crossbow and it fires skewers pretty cool i get a pic up soon

i get it now. make the trigger, and from there, use the 2 chop sticks comming out to make the "barrel". Put the shotting rubberband on the sticking out portion of the barrel and loop it on the trigger chop stick, the one now sticking up. from there, pull down on that trigger to let the rubberband fly off Still, a finaly product picture would be helpful

just extend the "barrel" to how ever long you want, or find your own mod, my uploading problem still curses me so i cant post any pics
