Totally right on ALL counts!! Would someone send this to my DSH? The only thing I'd recommend is on step 2, suggestions for which flowers have special meanings... i.e. violets are beautiful and delicate... like the beginning of a relationship... that sort of thing. any ideas?

 Right on...
I also heard that there is a "Color Code" where the different color mean different things. (i.e. white - Purity, Red - Passion, Yellow - Innocence, etc)

Those three are the only ones I know, but I also know that there are a lot more.

I've had great luck going into flower shops armed only with my girl's favorite color (and an approximate price range), and throwing myself on the mercy of the florists. Sometimes I'll pick out one large flower and ask if they can design something around that, and other times I'll just give them my clueless boy look of "I don't know nuthin bout pickin no flowers", and they've always been happy to help.

Two tips: 1) At the places I've shopped, flowers you pick up are significantly cheaper than ones you have delivered, so you can really stretch your budget, and 2) If she has a cat, see if the florist has any twirly sticks or other toys that might appeal to cats, and have one or two incorporated into the arrangement (make sure to let her know you got them specifically for her cat, this scores big points).
