Introduction: Coffee Buttercream
This is the frosting I used for the Mocha Cupcakes! It has a very sweet taste, and goes well with the cupcakes.
Step 1: Ingredients
1/2 cup room temperature butter
1 tbsp instant coffee powder
2 tbsp room temperature milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 - 3 cups confectioners' sugar
***note- I used regular coffee powder because instant coffee powder was not available to me at the time, but I HIGHLY recommend using instant.***
Step 2: Dissolve
In a small bowl, dissolve the instant coffee powder in milk and vanilla extract.
Step 3: Mixing
In a large bowl, beat together butter, instant coffee mixture, and 2 cups confectioners' sugar. Gradually blend in more confectioners' sugar until frosting is smooth, thick, and fluffy.
Step 4: Enjoy!
Spread or pipe onto cooled cupcakes and enjoy!
