Coin Wrap Rolls by Dimitrios

Having to sort coins each month for my side business, I wanted a quick solution to the trouble of doing this with torn paper, and handwriting the denominations on the rolls. I searched the internet thinking that surely this must be downloadable somewhere, only to find it wasn't. Sure, you can buy these rolls ready made at an office store, but that's like a box of 5,000 boring rolls. Instead I designed my own, and made it available to the public for free at http://www.dimitrios-art.com/downloads.htm

So for those of you who do this by hand: All you do is download, print, cut, tape and save yourself some time.

Step 1: Print out and cut

Click on the PDF file and print it out. Once printed, cut out on the marks.

Several years ago (make it more than 10!) I was able to find smaller denominations of wrappers...such as pennies (25 cent), nickels ($1), dimes ($3), and quarters($5).    Is it possible for someone to come up with these kind of templates?

Hey man this was an awsome idea. how did you figure out how to make these the right size? I have a bunch of U.S. half-dollars I want to roll up but its hard to find the right size tubes these days. I'm a graphics designer too and If you want to do it togeather we can make templets for all the coin sizes. No more will we be subject to the $2.99 a bag oppression of the office store!

Hey I couldn't wait so I whiped this out. I figured out the right size and just modified the file you made. I think you tweaked the image to make this harder cause I couldnt get the circles to line up but anyway here:

Hey now! These are pretty cool! Some of us like to just like neat little things like this... so no worries if the bank just throws them out. It's sorta like having a carved radish on your dinner plate at a nice restaurant... no one's gonna eat it, it's just a great presentation. Nice work, Dimitrios. (On a side note, I regularly see commercials for a certain bank—whose name I won't say here, but whose initials are "Chevy Chase"—and their free coin-sorter machines, even for non-customers. That's also an option... might save you some coin-rolling time if you're ever in a pinch.)

Cool! What about other denominations (dimes, nickels, pennies). re: CMPalmer's comment, perhaps either a cutout could be placed for folks to write them in, or create a fill-in form PDF (probably requires expensive Adobe software, though...)

Actually you don't have to pay a dime. Foxit Reader can add text in any pdf document.

The free version adds a few lines of text on the top of the page but that's outside the "rolls" in this file.

Well, I had a fun morning rolling coins yesterday, but the bank wouldn't take them unless they were in "official" coin rolls. So just a friendly warning if you living in Boston, MA and use Bank of America.

ummmmmm why bother i just ask for em at the bank and they give me all i need for free anytime i need and its less work, no taping ect

Lucky you, but there are people out there that are not so lucky. However, with this at hand, if you need them like now, and you don't have the other wraps, you can quickly roll some out.

According to the US mint's "Collectors Corner":

"coins packaged by banks, dealers or the United States Mint. The number of coins in a roll depends on the denomination: 50 cents, 40 nickels, 50 dimes, 40 quarters, 20 half dollars, or 25 dollars."

So the way I figure it is:

50 pennies = 50¢
40 nickels = $2.00
50 dimes = $5.00
40 quarters = $10.00 (as it is above)
20 half dollars = $10.00
25 dollars = $25.00

That should be right.

pretty much all banks just rip open the wrapper and toss it all in a coin counting machine. they're never going to take your word for what's inside a roll, no matter how its wrapped. so yes, they will work just fine!
