Introduction: Cold Brewed - Iced Coffee

This is the method I used for awesome iced coffee. Hope you enjoy.

Step 1: Get Some Coffee

I chose the Café Bustelo because it is dark, pure, flavorful, and bold.

Step 2: Dump Your Ground Coffee Into a Bowl

Get a large bowl and put your ground coffee in it.

Step 3: Mix Water In

For every two ounces of coffee add 1 quart of water.
My bag of coffee was 10 ounces so I added 5 quarts of water.

Step 4: Cover and Let Brew

Cover your container and let it sit for at least 8 hours.

Step 5: Filter Out the Grounds

Line a strainer with a few layers of cheese cloth and pour your mixture in to separate the coffee grounds from the liquid. I didn't have another large bowl to hold all the coffee so I had to do this step a few times.

Step 6: Done! or Maybe Not.

At this point you can store your coffee in a large container in the fridge and have awesome iced coffee every day for a few weeks. If that works for you then stop here and enjoy.
Since I made this batch for a get together I sweetened the whole container. Continue on to see how I did it.

Step 7: Sweet Heaven

I mixed equal amounts half and half and sweetened condensed milk and poured it in my container. Everyone loved it!
I started out with 8 oz of each. Add more until you get to your preferred level of sweetness.

How to actually filter coffee successfully has been a mystery to me. Because of the thickness of some of this cold brew grounds, I have had to deal with plugging filters during food preparation before. And I also enjoy Heavy Whipping Cream for food experimentation, with the end product might be enjoyed by me.

That looks tasty, and a great way to catch a coffee buzz when it's hot outside.....
