This is what my grandmother gave her 9 grandkids when we had colds and sinus problems.

It is a cheap, effective and holistic approach to surviving the annoyances of the common cold.
Make this fresh and take is as needed. 

 Half of 1 lime
1 large garlic clove
1 tablespoon of honey

Mince the garlic and add it to a bowl, squeeze in the lime and add the honey. Using a knife handle, smoosh it all together.
Let it sit for 5 minutes. You can drink it with the pieces of garlic or strain it and take just the syrup. If your sinuses are full, sprinkle a little cayenne pepper on top. Beware, you'll need some breath mints afterwords.

<p>Someone once told me that eating an entire bulb of garlic would cure a cold. So, on a Friday I toasted a bulb in the oven for a short while, and squeezed the cloves on to a piece of toast and ate the whole thing. I was cured by Monday, but the time in between was pretty horrible in regard to my digestion and my odor. Even though I have proof that garlic will kill a cold, I'm not sure I could take the medicine again! Maybe one clove would be enough! Thanks for sharing this.</p>
<p>Garlic is great for helping your cold end faster. It really helps a sore throat because the antimicrobial qualities in garlic kill bacteria lurking in there. I'm hypoglycemic, and for some reason eating garlic on an empty stomach makes me feel weak &amp; queasy. When I have a cold, I always nibble on raw garlic after eating a meal to prevent that side effect. I also drink 2 tbs apple cider vinegar mixed with 1/2 cup water 3x a day at the first sign of a cold. In most cases, all the symptoms will subside within 24 hours. </p>
Garlic ? Hmmmm, I'm aware of the advantages of it, but not entirely sure I would drink it, but that's just me. If we had a cold when kids, my grandma used to give us hot water, a little brandy, honey and lemon. before we went to bed. That just may be that she wanted a night without us waking up though ;o) Thanks for sharing !
You sure had a smart grandma! I'm not sure of why the garlic works, but it does. Trying to get my kids to take it is whole different deal ;)
Garlic strengthens your immune system. If you're feeling weak it's advised to eat a whole garlic clove (you can cut it in half and swallow the pieces) in the morning with your stomach still empty. Not so good for the breath though, but it's a great remedy

Drinking milk helps with garlic breath. Also lemons and parsley!
