Step 1: The history of commitment.

This noble tradition was invented while playing an Xbox racing game and my friend kept slowing down for corners that you didn't have to, I kept saying stay on the throttle... After some point I said commit yourself while having some fun crashing...

This quickly became fun on lots of tracks and got to the point of a good game.

Later on we went cycling, in Belvoir forest soon after arriving I came to the top of a big steep hill with crazy bumps and turns, this was the point that commitment became the phrase of the day and a great sport.

The fact that I came flying down the hill and round bends suddenly to see a sharp right angle with river on the the outside was an interesting development, which lead to an advancement in the game where both drifts and tail slides where the only means considered acceptable for sharp corners...

Below is one of the birthplaces of commitment, to see why enter the main gate and go left, watch out for me...

While I support doing unnecessarily stupid things, you really need to have a safety disclaimer somewhere in there since you are encouraging some unsafe stuff.

I like to play this on a dog sled with wheels.
ledzep567 says: Apr 11, 2009. 5:49 PM
i played this and now i cant lift my shoulder. single speed no suspension and no back brakes road bike on a singletrack course racing against bikes made for that course is a no-no. it was hella fun though.
Lithium Rain says: Sep 19, 2008. 8:41 PM
Man, I'd like to play commitment with you personally...sounds so fun...

killerjackalope (author) in reply to YerboogiemanSep 6, 2008. 11:38 AM
Damn, that's not good... Hopefully gets fixed, I'm waiting on getting a new freewheel at the moment when I stop pedalling the chain snaps up and down wildly a few times...
Yerboogieman in reply to killerjackalopeSep 6, 2008. 2:51 PM
my neighbor just gave me a new bike, its new, jut the chain is no good it is REALLY frozen.
killerjackalope (author) in reply to YerboogiemanSep 6, 2008. 4:23 PM
try a penetrating oil, if it doesn't loosen then you may have to split it and diesel it for a few days, other than that you could get a new one or use the one on the old bike...
Yerboogieman in reply to killerjackalopeSep 6, 2008. 7:16 PM
i've tried everything, im just gonna chop it and buy a new master link for the second one...they both dont have master links which sucks but you gotta do what you gotta do..
killerjackalope (author) in reply to YerboogiemanSep 7, 2008. 12:46 AM
Aye but at least you'll have a working bike again. How much are master links anyway, I've never been able to find them here...

another name: teenage weirdness. i'd like to see someone in calgary do this. in fish creek park ( a big forest place) there is a singletrack on the side of a almost cliff hill- long way down and youd land in a 1 foot deep river.
killerjackalope (author) in reply to purplemonkeydishwasherAug 30, 2008. 6:51 AM
At one point I nearly did something similar, the river one was worse though, I mean hanging out over the edge of a river I doubt I'd get back out of...

Flumpkins in reply to DJ RadioAug 15, 2008. 6:20 PM

I think. If he doesn't respond within 3-4 months, try again. It took him 2 months to respond. Only a picure and sticker though. No words, no letter, no nothin. I think it's the address above. More addresses at: http://tonyhawk.com/contact.html

killerjackalope (author) in reply to DJ RadioAug 15, 2008. 1:48 PM
not really, last I heard he didn't play... That and as good as he is he probably doesn't risk as much as you'd think that often, doing the 900 he did, a lot of the time he's within his limits, which sadly are falling due to age, even though he's a massive sellout he's got a fair few talents...
Rishnai says: Aug 11, 2008. 9:41 PM
What, no self-propelled-but-non-riding-lawnmower?! It takes lawnmower racing to a whole other level of fixed-wheel insanity.
killerjackalope (author) in reply to RishnaiAug 12, 2008. 1:46 AM
Gets added to the list, I'm in the process of finding a go-ped, to make in to a machine perfect for this, it should be able to drift, go around 50mph and have a boost button... Not nitro though, that's not weird enough for moi.
jakee117 says: Aug 7, 2008. 10:44 AM
i have a gas xg499 motorscooter

it is awesome and blows away slow unreliable electrics!

but it is 2 stroke and takes premium 93 0ctane =C

expensive
killerjackalope (author) in reply to jakee117Aug 7, 2008. 4:23 PM
Weird, I usually chuck in normal standard 90 octane petrol in to the strimmer and the scooters I've used along with the oil and it's fine . Just a tip if you put four star leaded in they go like psychos...
jakee117 in reply to killerjackalopeAug 8, 2008. 1:13 PM
cool the manual says to use 93 and i bought it used and with a boost bottle
pyro13 says: Aug 6, 2008. 12:28 AM
Ahhh this is the best ever. we do this on our longboards and skateboards, but a bit different. We go down a very steep road, get going crazy fast, and weave past each other at 25-30 miles an hour. We call it speed... it's fun and bloody suicidal.
shooby says: Aug 5, 2008. 2:39 PM
Nice! Needs a bit more structure though I think, at least for this to be posted as a sport. Otherwise, it's just a race of any kind, so long as speed is held precedent over concern for personal injury.
