Introduction: Compact Rocket Engine That Costs Under $20 to Make

ok i have never submitted anything so before so I'll try my best to describe how to make it What you will need

one T shaped pipe (any size will do just make sure the other pipe will fit)
one regular flat straight pipe
one wooden board ( this is to keep it stationary and make sure it stays in 1 place)
couple zip ties
1can of axe body spray (or any other flammable spray that burns like a candle WARNING THAT DOES NOT EXPLODE)
one end cap

and a BBQ lighter (this is the light with the long stem)

Step 1: Base

for this to work you need a base meaning something to hold it in place. So what you need to do is
place your board on a flat surface.

Step 2: Assembly

now take you flat straight PVC pipe, T shaped PVC pipe, and end cap now is when you start to assemble. take the straight piece and screw it into the T shaped piece. After you do that screw then end cap on the end of the T shaped piece that is left open. ( make sure when you are at the hardwhare store to please makes sure you pieces fit!!!!!!)

Step 3: Put in It Place

now the only thing left is to tie it down so u dont burn yourself so pplzplzplzplzplzplz plz DO THIS STEP those grey things are zip ties.

Step 4: Fuel

now wat is left is to unscrew the end cap and place axe can inside push it on the side treds then place your BBQ lighter in the top hole. Then you know what to do

Step 5: DISCLAIMER

Your stupid actions if you blow your face off is not my fault. You agreed to participate and make this engine that also entitles you as hurting yourself not me there are no mechanical errors in my engine if you have one thats your fault you putting it together. if you do blow your face off well...... not my fault.

This is unlikely to explode. The flame cannot go back into the can, as most deoderants do not have oxygen or oxiders in their cans. Insectercides make longer flames in theory, but they have oxiders so they are prone to internal combustion. metal-matt's comment is correct, The flames are not very hot and do not expand at the rate required for a good rocket engine. Good Try for your first 'ible Though. In most cases though, let common sense prevail.

add more detailed pictures so i know i am not going to kill myself or burn down my house. also a vid would be nice so i know some one has tested it before. anyway great first 'ible and keep up the good work

How about if one takes of the button on the can, insert a long thin wire. Then one takes like a servo motor which can be connected to a piece of metal that fits securely over the plastic pipe of the can. That way you can "press" the can releasing gas. Then you mount a lighter magneto close enough for the spark to jump on the inserted wire. You also gona need a servo to press the magneto. The magneto and servo motors can be zip strapped to the can.Connect a loooong wire to the motors then give power! The polarity must be the correct way around so the servos can "press"the can and the magneto. It can cause the can to rocket or explode. I still wanna try this so I cant give any guarantee from my side. Let me know what you think.

Wait. You said your own Instructable is cool? And I must ask why people comment on their own I'Ble when some people will actually comment? Well anyway, I think you should take pictures and explain how to assemble it better. I'm sure it would be good then but right now.....ehhh.

if you have a much longer t-shape that accomodates the can you can make it as a sort of mortar, but again, this is fairly dangerous as the cans barely have the strength to hold the pressurized innards..
