The Competitor Rival V2, my most current knex gun I have made. This gun has a range of about forty feet and features a mag with a top on it, so you can finally have preloaded mags. I still have found a way to dodge broken pieces but I'm not sure how much longer I'll keep doing that. I realize that broken pieces make better designs easier, but to me, it seems like cheating. So I guess as long as I feel like I'm cheating there won't be any broken pieces used by this guy.I know it took me awhile to get around to posting the Competitor Rival V2 but, I'm usually pretty busy with college stuff. If you want me to post instructions to something just send me a comment and I will see if I can get it posted.

Now as far as instructions for this gun, I decided to put all the pictures in one step instead of separtating them into groups and creating components. I think that you should still be able to put this together with no problems but just in case I added some image notes and I am always available for questions about assembly.
Wow.... memories.....
Currently I only have one gun in the arsenal picture. I've come a long way.
Which one is better, the original Competitor or this one? (In terms of range, mag size, simplicity, piece count, etc.)
Good question. If you really want to know, I liked the original competitor better. My competitor rivals have kinda been a testing ground for features I wanted to add to competitor. Competitor Rival 2 is cool because it features topped magazines and a friction mag lock.

So an overview of what I just described (should have said this first): for performance, I would build the original competitor; for features and appearance I would build competitor rival II.

Hope that helps.
Thanks. I really like how you actually reply to questions and interact with the commenters.
Well thanks! =D

This site is a habit (addiction) of mine so I'm a regular around here. I'm usually on the site daily to answer questions and keep up to date on other peoples projects. I also appreciate questions like this because I know someone has considered making it.

Just comment if you need anymore advice/help I'll get to it as soon as I can.
[Sorry for long responses, I like typing or something.]
In your terms.

Key: C =original competitor. R =competitor rival II

Range: C
Mag size:C
Simplicity:C
Piece Count:C

Wow.... well again I kinda built this gun for concept of topped mags. I just never liked it as much as my prior competitors...weird.
Yeah, I know, nothing new here, but someone wanted to build it so I posted it.
yeah good enough
Just a little note for anyone who builds this, to use this the gun needs to be cocked before putting in the mag!
Nice! The preloaded mag makes it much better.
