actually in theory you could stop it, but it would only work in early stages of replication, you could stop it by somehow closing ALL of the fork processes, like when there are less than say, 50 it would work
There are no replications, it is only one, file. Window-wise too. Only one window. That's why it's great as a ghost application.

oh and run the top one, the top one opens up "Loop.vbs" over and over again in the background, its tottally invisable loop is just a loop of absolutly nuthing, itll pull 100% on any cpu becuase it had no stop or begining and has no set speed, its how fast the cpu can process it
Actually, %0 is the same as typing in the full path to the current file.

"Actually, %0 is the same as typing in the full path to the current file." Would "%0" allow me to write a program that would start the folder the .bat file was in? start %0 If so, one could write a File-Locker that could be stored indide a file, but would still work if the folder was moved. Open.bat inside C:\Folder opens C:\Folder. Even if C:\Folder is moved, Open.bat will still open it. I "%0" won't work, is there a command that will open the directory the .bat is located in?
"Would "%0" allow me to write a program that would start the folder the .bat file was in?"
No it won't, because "%0" is the direct path to the batch file. But, like every other problem, there are ways around this. I am very busy at the moment, so get Padlock to help you!

You can not stop it, you must restart the computer by either cold booting it, or unplugging it!

how do you stop it, what if you want to remove the memory stick?
It doesn'y matter if you remove the memory stick, it just keeps running. You can't stop it, the only way to is by restarting the computer.

This is pretty cool! Will try. Btw, does it have to be an exe file? Not just batch works?

dude, fork bombs are awsome! at school i "acidentaly" put them on all my friends desktops. it was hilarious because they got in trouble from the principle.
(|) is a pipe. If you hold shift then press backslash (\), you will get a pipe.

While reading the Wikipedia "Fork Bomb" entry, it reminded me of the "Out-of-Office" auto reply function bug. If 2 users had the function turned on, and one sent a message to the other, a furious exchange of "Sorry, I am out of the office now" messages would speed between the computers, rapidly filling both inboxes. Needless to say, this bug was rapidly fixed.

Dude, its not for your own computer! You put it on a usb or cd and bring it to a friends house or other place! Use it as a prank!
It freezes the computer, then it wont respond. You just restart and it will be back to normal.
