This is a simple way to condense the clutter of having many plastic grocery bags sitting around and yet still have them at hand when they are needed

Step 1: Get Your Bags...

I had so many plastic bags wadded into one another that they were consuming my stairwell where I had them hanging from a hook. Yes I could have thrown them out or better, recycled them, but you never know when you might need one or two for a project... so I though I need to condense them. But how?... Vacuum seal them?, impractical... Create a parallel universe to store them in?, who has the time?... Fold them??? well my mother always said my clothes might actually fit in my drawers if I folded the laundry... sure I'll give it a try...

Gather the bags...

Step 2: Lay Them Flat...

As the title says Lay them flat...

I found by putting your finger in the handle and in the crease at the bottom and tugging them apart the bag lays flat very well.

Step 3: Start Folding...

First fold in half so the handles lay together.

Step 4: Keep Folding...

Fold the excess into the same line as the handles.

Step 5: Rotate, and Keep Folding...

Rotate the bag 90 degrees or 270 degrees if you prefer and start folding at the bottom of the bag forming roughly a square fold. And now KEEP FOLDING...

Fold it over and over until just the handles remain out.

Step 6: Tie It Up...

Separate the handles drawing one over the top and one under the bottom. and tie a simple overhand knot on the top of the parcel.
If you like straighten the handles so they are parallel with the rest of the bag.

Step 7: Marvel at How Much More Space You Have...

Now marvel at how much more space you have...

Step 8: Please Enjoy...

As always please Rate, Comment, and especially enjoy...

I fold in half as per your first step then roll it up length wise. Next bag gets rolled around the first one and so on making a roll of bags then I insert it in an old box that ziplocks came in. Then anytime I need one I just pull it out of the box . It works the same way a box of garbage bags that come in a roll work.

I like this. Simple and practical. I like to have little projects like this for 'commercial' time on TV. This is my project for tonight. Thanks!

You need to get a girlfriend. (legs it...)

Just fold it all in half then tie a knot. One compact unknottable bag. Simples!
