Use OpenDNS it's always working.

http://www.opendns.com/

Even if the one provided by your ISP goes down.

Primary DNS: 208.67.222.222
Secondary DNS: 208.67.220.220

This isn't technically wireless. Wireless would be if you used the Wireless Adapter.

for XP Pro or Vista Home Premium (and whatever equivalent for 7) ICS can be configured by going into network connections, right clicking on the wireless, clicking properties, clicking the sharing tab, then clicking the allow other computers to connect through this one button, then selecting the ethernet connection from the drop down list, then hitting OK.

You can connect to xbox live using this method but i personally wouldn't recomend it.

i've gone through about 12 -15 (wasn't really counting)  xbox's since i bought my 1st console 2nd hand a few of them stopped working for other reasons but l went through the most of them when i shared my laptops internet connection through xp.

I connected in this way for approximatly 3-4 months when i was connected in this way i went through around 8 -10 most of which had the same error i can't remember the exact code but console displayed 3 red lights and error message i asked guy at the store were a kept returning my consoles and he said the error was to do with hardware failure on the ethernet port.

I kept getting newer consoles which also broke the one i have now is one that i had previously returned but having been repaired shortly after recieving this console i stopped connecting through my laptop and i've had this one for at least without and problems.

I would risk this if you don't have a guarantee on your xbox i was lucky that with store i bought my console from i could just go a swap it for another there and then with out having to send it off.

Can someone please help me this is extremely frustrating. I followed all the steps but when I test it IP fails. Wireless Network is greyed out (is it supposed to be?) For some reason when i bridge my wireless to my LAN the wireless stops working, and when i remove it from the bridge it starts working again. Could someone please help?

your wireless connection is supposed to be grayed out...your using a bridge to your laptop through an ethernet cable so if you passed the ethernet connection test then it should be fine

Jun 30, 2009. 2:34 AMShadowfury says:
You need 1 router and 1 laptop with a wireless connection to that router. So no, you do not need an extra router.

Hi, I have a desktop PC upstairs that is wireless capable but is hooked up to a wired modem. My Xbox 360 is downstairs next to the tv, I have a new wireless netgear router that I was wondering if I could just hook that up to my xbox downstairs and keep the pc wired upstairs, as I know that most my friends have their 360's plugged straight into the wireless router. Can I have both wired upstairs and wireless plugged in the back of XBOX? If so how
Jun 28, 2009. 2:47 PMlytlboiblu says:
what i would suggest is to connect the xbox to the router wired and the pc to the router via wifi. then do the enable internet connection sharing on the Pc wired, selecting the wireless as the network to share to. not sure if just bridging them will work in this case or not. hope this helps

If your using vista and the message shows say you need at least 2 LAN or wireless connections follow these steps. Right click your connection symbol on the toolbar, and click network and sharing center. Then click the manage network connections on the left. Then right click LAN and go to properties. Click the sharing tab and make sure the first box is unchecked. You should be able to bridge now

yes, this is a way to avoid buying a 100$ device that allows you to connect to the xbox servers through the internet, this system allows you to connect to the interet, not the xbox servers.
