Use OpenDNS it's always working.

http://www.opendns.com/

Even if the one provided by your ISP goes down.

Primary DNS: 208.67.222.222
Secondary DNS: 208.67.220.220

Can someone please help me this is extremely frustrating. I followed all the steps but when I test it IP fails. Wireless Network is greyed out (is it supposed to be?) For some reason when i bridge my wireless to my LAN the wireless stops working, and when i remove it from the bridge it starts working again. Could someone please help?

your wireless connection is supposed to be grayed out...your using a bridge to your laptop through an ethernet cable so if you passed the ethernet connection test then it should be fine

If your using vista and the message shows say you need at least 2 LAN or wireless connections follow these steps. Right click your connection symbol on the toolbar, and click network and sharing center. Then click the manage network connections on the left. Then right click LAN and go to properties. Click the sharing tab and make sure the first box is unchecked. You should be able to bridge now

yes, this is a way to avoid buying a 100$ device that allows you to connect to the xbox servers through the internet, this system allows you to connect to the interet, not the xbox servers.

did u have any problems doing this
Aug 21, 2008. 9:37 AMrech says:
Hello, you can do the same by selecting the wireless connection end stet it for 'share this connection'. Then you can connect your "hard line" network card to a small switch (router, or even a cross cable) and connect the x-box to the switch, the advantage of using a switch is that it allows you to connect more devices to the 'wireless Internet connection', that bad part is that with more devices your bandwidth will get full.

Jul 21, 2008. 9:25 AMmrob65 says:
awesome idea. question though: i can create the bridge just fine (with Vista) but when I go to sign in to Live/Marketplace, it loads continuously. i.e. it never signs me in. also the bridge says its a part of an unidentified network? any help with this?
Jul 22, 2008. 6:01 AMmrob65 says:
I fixed it. It was created with limited connectivity and Live needed more than it had. So I just deleted the bridge, restarted the 360, and voila. It seems that whenver I'm finished with the 360 though I need to remove the bridge. Oh well, I'll just have to deal. Thanks for getting this together!
Jul 21, 2008. 1:03 PMsavior says:
You have to have a hard drive on your 360 and a xbox live account I believe and make yourself a home network. There's a wizard for that. Don't know if that is relative or not to you.

omg help me when i go to bridge the thing it says i must conetct to lan or highspeed conections bla bla bla how do i do that.
May 15, 2008. 10:06 AMn8zero says:
Alright so i've gone through this process that seems pretty consistent from sight to sight, but I've had some problems. I've got the same setup as everybody else, 360, wireless- enabled laptop, and an ethernet cable. I follow your instructions to a dime but when i make the bridge, it says "The network bridge cannot be configured while other network connection property sheets are open." If i ignore that, it will create the bridge, but with limited connectivity, erego i am unable to hook up to live. Earlier i had the problem of my laptop losing its wireless connection, apparently it was trying to get internet from the ethernet connection (to my 360... stupid computer). I'm at a loss here. What do you mean by connect manually?
Apr 12, 2008. 1:30 PMbiggmarshee says:
do you need a network card even tho u r wireless
Apr 1, 2008. 7:30 PMfilamklo says:
whenever i highlight and press bridge connections, i always get the response, " to create a network bridge, you must select at atleast two LAN or high speed internet connections that are not being used by internet connection sharing." what do i do? btw: im on vista if that makes a difference.
