this screams zombie apocalypse. in a world where gas stations are empty, you can dispose of corpses and get 20 mpg doing it
I would have never believed it until I read this comment.
the diference here is that aftermarket does NOT mean DIY.
i would wager that almost all aftermarket parts are dot approved.
however, in disagreement with shortw, this does nothing to the exhaust system. it doesn't touch it. it only changes the fuel used. in theory the exhaust would still work exactly the same.
people have been converting their cars over to natural gas and other fuels for a long time, and there is probably a process to follow. just search around.
the dot is concerned with devices that make the vehicle unsafe, which means, it's probably illegal to put the fuel delivery hose... on the bottom, but it also can't be big enough to block vision when it goes down the a pillar, from the roof.
