Cool Cedar Wood Jewelry Box

Step 4Step 4: Cutting out the inside of the drawers.

Step 4: Cutting out the inside of the drawers.
Now we can take our teardrop shapes and cut off about 3/8 " to 1/2" off the front and back of each. Be careful these pieces will be your back and front of the drawers. Put these aside.
Take your center drawer piece and see how it will slide out of the jewelry box. Imagine the hollowed out part. It should be a wide U shape. So draw this U onto the wood about the same thickness as the front and backs. Go slow and cut out the U shape . Now you have a drawer shape. Keep each front and back labeled so you can easily match them with easch drawer body. I use drawer #1 Front, Back.Drawer # 2 etc..Also mark inside & outside faces, this is important for a good fit and look to match grains! in pencil.etc... Now glue each drawer back and front on. Elmers wood glue is great. Clean up the drips with a damp sponge. Use small clamps or rubber bands here.
